Celebrating the 20th Release of SolidWorks 3D CAD Software

A lot can happen in 20 releases when it comes to software and indeed a LOT has happened! As SolidWorks 2012 marks the 20th release of SolidWorks from the first release in 1995 SolidWorks has forever changed how the world designs new products.

There’s a lot interesting stories about SolidWorks and especially from the founder as most people know. From the Card Counting days as one of the MIT students that took Las Vegas for a run to becoming the founder of SolidWorks, John Hirschtick has had to say the least a very interesting story. But what others who started in the early years of SolidWorks and have seen it grow to become what it is today? To help celebrate the 20th Release, SolidWorks has asked some long-time employees to talk about their time at SolidWorks. Here what they have to say:

  • Ian Baxter, VP of Worldwide Technical Services
  • Ron Bates, Senior Manager of Graphical Applications

Here’s to a bright future with SolidWorks!
